Saint Francis University has been a home to the Knee Center for the Study of Occupational Regulation (CSOR) since its doors opened in 2016. In the last five years, we’ve participated in countless conferences, community building, academic publications and reports, as well as interaction with phenomenal student fellows. The time has come to take advantage of the opportunity to relocate the Center for growth and expansion. 

While continuing to provide information to citizens, policy makers, and other researchers about the extent, scope, and effects of occupational regulation, the Center is officially in a transitional phase in moving their operations to the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (WVU). 

WVU is a public research institution that serves almost 30,000 students and offers nearly 200 bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professional programs. Student fellows have been a big contributor to the success of the Center thus far. We are eager to work with WVU students from the school’s large cross section of majors and disciplines. 

We are grateful to Saint Francis University, its incredible faculty, and dedicated students. Student fellows at Saint Francis conducted, analyzed, and presented research that assisted in developing a database of occupations. They traveled to conferences to present their research and participate in valuable networking events. We are pleased to continue our financial support of our fellows through scholarship funding for the remaining 2021-22 academic year. 

The Center’s time at SFU was nothing short of exceptional. “SFU gave CSOR every opportunity to succeed,” Director Dr. Timmons said. “I enjoyed every single moment working with the fantastic group of students in Loretto. I’m looking forward to the Center’s future at WVU.”
