July 27, 2020The Knee Center for the Study Occupational Regulation (CSOR) co-hosted a conference with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) on May 29th-31st. Friday evening, Dr. Schoenecker, Dean of the School of Business at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, gave the opening remarks to this year’s conference and set the tone for a successful weekend. Over the three days, more than 40 like-minded scholars from across the world virtually came together to discuss and debate the many aspects of occupational regulation.
Our virtual conference had two primary goals: (1) to provide a forum for discussion and feedback on occupational regulation research and (2) to bring scholars and policy analysts together to consider the opportunities for public policy. Both goals were met and facilitated virtually by using Zoom video conferencing software.
Zoom provided CSOR’s first ever virtual conference with a platform that created a great environment for the scholars to put their minds together to provide, and receive, feedback for expansion on their current academic research. The conference included poster sessions, presentations, expert panel discussions and break out happy hours to provide an opportunity to network with one another.
